Description

Nectaware's mission is to develop ad-hoc artificial intelligence solutions dedicated to forecasting electricity PV generation and demand that are easily accessible and compatible with other platforms. Nectaware has also created a unique AI-image recognition solution of satellite images capable of mapping every PV plant, producing accurate generation monitoring and forecast, and providing all the energy transition stakeholders with accurate figures and information not otherwise available. At Nectaware, our vision is rooted in the belief that the energy transition presents unprecedented challenges in the energy sector. We see it as an opportunity for a profound paradigm shift involving various stakeholders with varying concerns, including regulatory, economic, societal, and environmental factors. At the heart of this transition lies the adoption of integrated multi-energy systems (MES) within urban environments. These MES solutions aim to efficiently generate, distribute, store, and convert energy across various stakeholders. They enable the harnessing of renewable energy resources and the development of intelligent energy infrastructures. Our vision is twofold: to optimize the resulting integrated energy system globally and to enhance every individual process within it.

The Problem

Distributed Solar Resources (DERMs) imply regulatory constraints and increasing costs and are not meant to manage massive amount of data. As a consequences Grid Operators cannot access real-time generation data of all solar installations that are connected to the grid. Grid operators and final users can therefore experience high costs for balancing and preventing outages, blackouts, damaged power line equipment, un-balances etc.

The Solution

At Nectaware, revolutionising the use of the AI to the satellite images, we have created the first satellite driven Decentralized Energy Management System 'DERMS' dedicated to highly distributed installed solar capacity. How it works? We first generate a MAP of all PV existing installations, geo-localizing every single PV plants and then we measure the ground irradiation from the satellite, filtered by the clouds in the area where the PV installation has been found, calculating its generation. The system allow us to provide the Grid Operator with the real-time and nowcasting generation data, from 5 min to 36 hours ahead of each or all aggregated PV installations it needs to manage.

To be the first to have created a satellite driven Decentralized Energy Management System 'DERMS' that can provide a grid operator or a municipality with 100% of the generation data of the installed decentralized solar capacity that are not otherwise accessible.
